Mumbai. Reliance Jio will start 5G services in four major cities of the country by Diwali and 5G services across the country by the end of next year. The announcement was made by the company's chairman Mukesh Ambani at the 45th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited on Monday. The group's telecom arm Reliance Jio will invest Rs 2 lakh crore in the development of a 5G network.

Ambani said that Jio has the fastest and most ambitious plan to launch a 5G service for India. Within two months, by Diwali, we will be rolling out Jio 5G in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. He said that after the introduction of 5G services in metros in India, Jio will increase its presence every month. Reliance Group has separate companies for retail and digital business. Parent company Reliance Industries has an oil refining-petrochemical business, which is headed by Ambani himself. The new energy business has just been given to Reliance.



Jio 5G smartphone will be launched

  • Mukesh Ambani has also announced the launch of an affordable 5G smartphone. Jio is making this phone in partnership with Google.
  • Jio Phone Next was launched last year. This was the company's cheapest 4G phone.
  • Not much information has been given about the phone at the moment, but experts say that Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor can be given in this phone of Jio. It can have 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
  • A 2 GB RAM variant of the phone is also expected to be launched. In this, a dual camera can be given with a 6.5-inch HD IPS LSD display. Its first sensor will be 13 megapixels and the second will be 2 megapixels.
  • Jio 5G phone can be launched in India at the lowest price. This will be the cheapest 5G phone ever. Its price can be around Rs 12,000.
